Air Monitoring and Clearance Certificates
Identifibre is a National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accredited laboratory offering all hygiene services required for asbestos removal works. Our experienced consultants can provide guidance on the Regulations and legal requirements in various circumstances from friable and non-friable asbestos works, to removal works in domestic properties.
The Regulations only apply to workplaces, defined as a place, whether or not in a building or structure, where employees or self-employed persons work. Should an employer or self-employed person attend a domestic premise to conduct asbestos removal, the Regulations will apply.
To ensure adequate management control measures are in place, before, during and after asbestos removal works, we can assist with the following:
- Background (boundary) air monitoring – conducted during the removal works
- Clearance air monitoring – conducted after removal works within the work area to ensure safe re-occupation
- Visual clearance certificates – visual inspection after removal works is completed and issue of certificate for safe re-occupation
- Smoke tests and negative air pressure tests – to confirm adequate containments for friable asbestos removal works
- Onsite supervision – consultant onsite to oversee removal works
Our services also extend to:
- Ambient air monitoring – conducted during regular business operations in buildings known to have asbestos
- Synthetic mineral fibre (SMF) air monitoring – background or clearance monitoring for SMF removal works
- Respiratory protection mask fit testing for asbestos removal workers
Air monitoring must be analysed as soon as is reasonably possible after it is taken. We pride ourselves on being a leader in the industry for our fast turnaround on results with access to in-house sample analysis testing facilities and portable laboratories.
